WELCOME TO THE EUROHEAR WEBSITE

 

This website aims to take a proactive role by informing citizens, Health Professionals and European scientists about EuroHear research activities in the field of functional genomics of inner ear development and disorders with a specific emphasis on presbycusis i.e. age related hearing loss (ARHL).

EuroHear is an Integrated Projects funded in Fundamental genomicswithin the EC FP6 programme.

The scientific objective of this project is to understand the hearing mechanisms involved in the inner ear: the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying hearing impairment.

This fundamental knowledge is essential to open new routes for prevention, intervention and treatments.
