| WELCOME TO THE EUROHEAR WEBSITE |
This website aims to take a proactive role
by informing citizens, Health Professionals and European scientists
about EuroHear research activities in the field of functional genomics
of inner ear development and disorders with  a specific
emphasis on presbycusis i.e. age related hearing loss (ARHL).
EuroHear is an Integrated Projects funded in Fundamental genomics within the
EC FP6 programme. |

| CHALLENGE
OF THE PROJECT |
The scientific objective of this project is
to understand the hearing mechanisms involved in the inner ear: the
genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying hearing impairment.
This fundamental knowledge is essential to open new routes for
prevention, intervention and treatments. |
